First off, I multi class on basically everything since the start of time and I find off meta builds to be fun. The rune change was supposed to make most runes easier to access, by making them craftable, and a QoL update, because the inventories wouldn't get full. I never really noticed before since I wasn't using them much, but it's been almost 3 years since they were introduced to the game, I have the runecrafter salvage and use mystic and BL salvage kits, and I don't have even 50 of ANY of them despite having never used them. Salvaging gear with the Masters/Mystic/Silverfed has a slightly lower chance to yield charms and symbols, but it still should be used for rare (yellow) gear because the slightly better chance to get ectoplasma outweighs that. So rather use the Master Kit (or equivalent) on yellow gear and sell the ectos to buy charms/symbols you need.
